Thanks from the Committee

The Management Committee of Rainhill Village Hall would like to thank the local community for helping them to raise £800 at the concert held on 15th March, 2014. All the regular user groups worked together to put on a concert that was very well attended.
A local community choir “Rainhill Hi Notes”, led by their Musical Director Vicki Crane, started off the evening. Rainhill Musical Theatre Company Youth Group, led by Sam Moores, followed, warming hearts with their singing and dancing. The Garrick Drama group performed a comedy news sketch “About Prescot”
During the interval tea and a selection of delicious cakes were donated and served by the ladies who run the Luncheon Club and the WI. There were many Raffle Prizes kindly donated by individuals and groups that regularly use the Hall.
The Nearly Tuneful Company opened the second half singing a selection of songs to backing tracks. The WI followed with a hilarious sketch called “Kitty Cattery, This is Your Life”. The concert closed with Rainhill Musical Theatre Company under the direction of their Musical Director Wayne Oakes.
We would like to thank everyone who took part in the concert or who helped in any way to make the concert a success. We would like to thank everyone in the audience, who not only paid to come and see us and bought raffle tickets, but who also stayed after the concert to help put away the chairs and tables ready for a function the next day!
It was a very successful evening and a good example of the community working together. It was suggested that we hold a concert every year!
There are many activities at the hall open to the community including the Luncheon club, Bowling, Zumba, Tai Chi, WI, Townswomen’s Guild, Line dancing, The Garrick, Rainhill Musical Theatre Company Adult and Youth Groups, Irish Dancing, Ballroom Dancing and Mums and Tots Group. If anyone is interested in joining any of these groups please contact the Village Hall on 0151 430 9338.
